Well-Resourced Schools: rightsizing presentation to TLE Committee (September 8, 2026)
Thirteen-slide presentation to the board's Teaching, Learning and Enrollment Committee on why the district says it needs to rightsize: falling enrollment, the same number of school sites, and staff spread thin. It sets size thresholds by grade band (360 students for K-5, 500 for K-8 and middle schools, about 1,100 for high schools), lists past closures and reconfigurations including the 2006 change that created 26 K-8s on the east side, and names three tools: program shifts, grade-band reconfiguration and consolidation.
